IS BAMBOO REALLY STRONG ENOUGH?
There are more than 1,000 species of bamboo in the world. The one we selected is the same one used for fly-rods and one of the strongest for its size/weight. Independent tests have proved that it is about 2.4x stronger than aluminium poles of the same size.
WHY DO MY POLES COME WITH NO BASKETS FITTED?
We send a pair of piste baskets and a pair of powder baskets with each pair of our poles.
Shipping them with no baskets fitted keeps your baskets from bending/snapping in transit, and gives you the choice of which ones to fit depending on your intended use. Please look at our "Care and Maintenance" page for instructions on how to fit/change baskets.
WHERE IS YOUR BAMBOO FROM?
Our canes are responsibly grown in the Zejiang Province of China.
Our importer visits the farm frequently to ensure quality and farmers' fair treatment.
They are "triple distilled" as they get selected at source, then again when they reach our importer's headquarters, and then by us here in our workshop. Only the best ones become Poleplant.
WHAT SPECIAL REQUESTS CAN I MAKE?
When ordering poles through our online shop you will get an option to enter "special requests".
For example you can ask to mismatch the colour of your handles or of your baskets if you so wish.
If you want a specific font for your engraving you can specify that too, as long as it is fairly common.
CAN ONLY ENGRAVE TEXT OR EVEN IMAGES/LOGOS?
Our standard engraving only includes text. If you have a small image/logo you would like to engrave please contact us at info@poleplant.com and send us the best version you have of the image, ideally a vector file (Adobe Illustrator, etc..), and we will give you an accurate price based on the image file provided.
I DO NOT LIKE BUYING ONLINE, WHERE CAN I FIND YOUR POLES?
We are always adding selected backcountry/freeskiing shops around the world to our resellers network, so you should be able to find Poleplant poles in a shop near you very soon. The full list is in our "find a reseller" page. However, you will always find the largest range and selection in our online shop.
ARE THE POLES COVERED BY WARRANTY?
Our canes are carefully selected and we take great care in manufacturing our poles. So we are confident that responsible use will result in a long life before they break. Your poles come with a one season warranty on all the parts we manufacture (*), but do bare in mind that bamboo is a natural fiber and as such is subject to splitting along the grain especially if exposed to dramatic changes of temperature often, and that is totally out of our control.
If for any reason you believe there is a manufacturing defect in your poles from the start then please contact us ASAP via email.
